Architectural historian, Bryant Tolles, Jr. joins us for this special lecture. Listen to the history and architecture of the grand resort hotel phenomenon and hospitality tourism in the White Mountains of New Hampshire from the pre-Civil War era to the present. The primary focus is on the surviving grand resort hotels: The Mount Washington Resort; the Mountain View Grand; the Balsams; the Eagle Mountain House; and , Wentworth Hall and Cottages. Extensive Illustrations document these buildings and others no longer in existence.
This presentation will take place in the Winnipesaukee Room on the second floor of the Carriage House. Advance reservations are not required.
Use the Ossipee Park Road Entrance for this presentation as the main gate will be closed. Parking is available in the Castle in the Clouds main parking lot.
